Our client is looking to appoint a Finance Assistant to join their friendly and collaborative team at their offices on the outskirts of Richmond, North Yorkshire.
This is a 12-month maternity cover contract, ideally starting in November to allow for a thorough handover before the current Finance Assistant begins maternity leave in December.
The finance and administration function is a close-knit team, with plenty of interaction and collaboration with senior management and Directors across the wider business.
Responsibilities:
Working as part of a supportive finance and administration team, you will work closely with the Financial Controller, senior leadership team, and Directors, taking responsibility for a varied range of day-to-day finance and administrative duties, including:
- Preparing and processing invoices and customer statements
- Completing bank reconciliations
- Tracking invoices and monitoring due and outstanding payments
- Maintaining fee and quotation trackers
- Updating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets for forecasting purposes using Excel formulas and functions
- Processing and monitoring business expenses
- Supporting the administration of company phone contracts
- Maintaining accurate financial and administrative records
- Providing general finance and administrative support across the business
- Working collaboratively with the Financial Controller, senior leadership team, and Directors
Requirements/Experience:
- Be working toward, or have achieved, AAT Level 2/3, or have equivalent practical experience
- Have previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, or similar role
- Have working knowledge of Sage 50 – Xero experience would be beneficial but not essential
- Be confident using Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, and lookups
- Have strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Be comfortable working as part of a small, collaborative team
- Have a friendly, approachable, and professional manner
