Assistant Alternative Provision Practitioner
Creative Makers CIC – Witham Friary, Somerset
£17 per hour | 1–2 days per week | Term-time
Creative Makers CIC is looking for a warm, calm and experienced Assistant Alternative Provision Practitioner to join our small team at our unique outdoor quarry provision near Witham Friary.
Working alongside our Lead Alternative Provision Practitioner, you will support small groups of children and young people with SEND and SEMH needs, helping them to engage in creative, practical and outdoor learning in a nurturing, child-centred environment.
Activities may include creative arts, photography, cooking, gardening, DIY and construction, fire-building, nature-based projects and other practical outdoor experiences.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has strong experience working with children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs
- Understands needs such as autism, ADHD, anxiety, EBSA, sensory differences and emotional dysregulation
- Is calm, patient, reliable and able to build positive relationships
- Enjoys practical, creative and outdoor learning
- Can work effectively alongside a Lead Practitioner while also using their own initiative
- Is committed to safeguarding and child-centred practice
Working pattern: One to two days per week, depending on referrals, working on Tuesday, and Thursday during term time, 830-3pm
Pay: £17 per hour.
