Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and customer service, seeking a dynamic and active position within a busy logistics environment.
This is a part time role with around 2 Days of work each week.
Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including vans, to deliver goods to clients and customers.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to meet scheduled deadlines.
- Load and unload items, sometimes involving heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times or any issues encountered.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies during deliveries.
- Assist with warehouse tasks when required, including stock organisation and inventory checks.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within logistics or warehousing.
- Valid driver’s licence, preferably with a clean driving record; commercial driving licence (CDL) is advantageous.
- Experience operating various types of vehicles, including vans or lorries.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, demonstrating physical fitness for the role.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Strong organisational skills for route planning and time management.
- Knowledge of local roads and traffic regulations in the area of operation.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
