Responsibilities
- Prepare and display fresh seafood products with precision and care, ensuring attractive presentation and optimal freshness.
- Cut, fillet, and portion fish and other seafood items according to established standards and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the fish counter, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Assist customers by providing knowledgeable recommendations on seafood selections, cooking tips, and meal ideas.
- Monitor inventory levels regularly, restock displays as needed, and communicate supply needs to management.
- Follow all food safety protocols diligently to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver efficient service in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
Skills
- Proven experience in food production, culinary arts, or related food preparation roles.
- Strong background in butchery techniques specific to fish and seafood processing.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices within a retail or restaurant setting.
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience that demonstrates ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate product knowledge clearly.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while performing detailed tasks such as filleting or cutting seafood.
