Martha Trust provides a home for life for adults with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). Joining Martha means working differently, and we will provide you with the tools you need to do this. The first three weeks with us will see you shadowing an experienced Support Worker, giving you time to learn how the people we support communicate, and to build meaningful relationships.
We provide comprehensive paid training, including safeguarding, communication, personal care, medication administration, epilepsy awareness, oral health, autism awareness and our specialist Care That Empowers course.
We actively encourage career development. Support Workers can take on additional Champion roles in areas such as Safeguarding and Communication, with opportunities to progress into Senior Support Worker positions and beyond.
To be successful at Martha Trust, we are looking for people who share our values and our passion for enabling the people we support to thrive. You need to have integrity, good communication skills, be willing to learn and be self-reflective. Teamwork is essential, along with a positive outlook and the ability to listen and follow instructions. Daily routines include supporting people with personal care, assisting with food and drink, daily life tasks, therapeutic routines including hydrotherapy, as well as outings into the local community and activities in the homes designed to stimulate and engage.
