Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised General Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the team across customer orders, purchasing, bookkeeping, digital marketing and supporting the Managing Director in their workload.
You will need strong administrative skills, excellent customer service and very proficient in Windows Office suite, social media platforms (Instagram, FaceBook & TikTok), experience with Shopify and Vistasocial would be advantageous.
Company ethos
We are a small online business based few miles from Wedmore, we have been running for 10 years. We are a team of five, the MD is full time and the other team members are part time. Company fit is important for us.
We work hard but also like to have fun and consider our work environment more informal. As a small business, everyone gets stuck in when needed so we are looking for someone who enjoys variety and a busy day.
This position requires someone who is confident but empathic with very good interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
This role is Monday to Friday 9-4.30pm with 30min social cover on weekends on a rota (1 per month)
Purchasing
- Creating POs for suppliers on a weekly basis & chasing these through to delivery & invoicing ensuring Goods in process is complete
- Querying discrepancies in Goods in, Invoices & QC issues liaising with our team & suppliers
- Support MD in inventory management, to help optomise our stock holding
Customer Orders
- Oversee any queries from the fulfilment team on site for customer orders
- Sign off escalated customer service queries from the team via email and social media.
- Offering support during peak days for customer service ie Mondays. Ths includes direct messages, comments and repost on our social media channels, Instagram, Facebook Tiktok and YouTube.
Marketing
- Support in maintaining the website as well as adding new product pages to the website.
- Writing blogs, newsletters or other marketing materials
- Scheduling content for socials with Vistasocial
- Working alongside Head of Marketing on the monthly Campaigns
General
- Utilise Basecamp our task management app for documentation and communication purposes.
- Perform general admin duties such as bookkeeping, timesheets, team holiday cover, payroll prep.
- Full training is provided on the job lead by the MD.
Requirements
- Previous management experience is essential, with a focus on administrative tasks.
- Some manual handling is required so a moderate level of fitness would be advantageous.
- Ideally experience in Ecommerce platforms such as Shopify.
- Any previous experience or knowledge of SocialVista, Canvas, Klaviyo and Capcut.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace applications.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong typing skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry.
- Having the natural ability to think laterally to problem solve and use initiative in balancing customer service with commercial requirements.Every day is varied and the time goes by so quickly.

Pay: £29,000.00-£37,500.00 per year
