Chef de Partie – Create Exceptional Food at Wellington College
Location: Wellington College, Duke's Ride, Crowthorne, Berkshire, RG45 7PU
Salary: £14.50 per hour + Excellent Benefits
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only – 34 weeks
Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Pattern: 5 out of 7 days (including some weekend working)
Shift Times: Early 6:30am–3:00pm | Late 12:00pm–8:30pm
Enjoy school holiday periods off, including Christmas, Easter and half terms.

What You'll Do

Assist with the preparation, production, and presentation of high-quality food to agreed standards

Ensure all dishes are prepared with care and attention, including catering for special dietary requirements and allergens

Support smooth service periods by ensuring food is replenished and presented to a high standard
-
Maintain excellent standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness in line with company and statutory requirements

Assist with catering for functions, events, and special occasions

Work collaboratively with the Executive Head Chef and wider kitchen team to deliver an outstanding catering service

Contribute ideas and suggestions to future menus and food development

Support stock management, ordering processes, and kitchen administration when required

Build positive relationships with colleagues, customers, and school stakeholders

Report any compliments, complaints, incidents, or areas for improvement appropriately
What You Bring:
Essential:
-
Experience working in a Chef de Partie or similar role within a professional catering environment
-
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high standards
-
Ability to work effectively in a busy kitchen environment
-
Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations
-
Experience preparing fresh food and working with a variety of ingredients
-
Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates
Desirable:
-
Experience within an education, hospitality, or high-volume catering environment

Experience supporting or developing other team members
-
Knowledge and experience of pastry
-
Experience managing customer or client relationships
