Trainee Plant Operator:
Dallol Operations Limited is expanding its operational team and will be recruiting a Trainee Plant Operator (leading to Plant Operator after training) to play an important hands-on role in the safe and efficient running of a high temperature hot water biomass plant in Bridlington, East Yorkshire.
Main duties:
- Onsite fuel management – ensure safe deliveries of biomass fuel to the site and to the biomass boiler fuel feed system, this includes operation of site telehandler for loading the fuel system. Record deliveries and maintain site fuel stock systems.
- Onsite boiler management – follow safety system of works for the controlled operations of the biomass boiler, in accordance with industry standards for high temperature hot water boiler systems.
- Planned and reactive maintenance on the biomass boiler system and associated plant equipment. Record and update site reporting systems for planned preventative maintenance.
- Carry out all plant cleaning and maintenance tasks as required.
- Monitoring the plant including functional system checks and responding to alarms.
- On call system for out of hours alarms, troubleshooting and maintenance response.
- Work under the company health and safety regime promoting a positive safety culture, including undertaking task-based risk assessments and following safe systems of work.
The candidate should have the following desirable knowledge, skills, and experience, but full training will be provided:
- Experience in working on industrial boilers.
- Experience in working with biomass boilers and with biomass fuel.
- Training for hot water boilers under the boiler operation accreditation training scheme (BOAS).
- Engineering background, with both mechanical and electrical experience.
- Experienced telehandler operator with relevant certificate of competency.
- Hold a full driving license.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all stake holders.
Flexible, committed and determined to ensure high operational standards are maintained.
Be able to work on a shift pattern basis that includes weekends and out of hours calls.
Excellent engineering credentials and attention to detail, with a ‘hands on’ approach to problem solving.
Salary:
Dallol are offering a competitive basic salary with additional on-call and overtime benefits; this will be discussed at interview.

Schedule:
Shift Pattern Day shifts 4 on 4 off (10 hour shifts).
Basic hours of work: 7am to 5pm, average of 40 hours per week.
Out of hours On -Call: Required to be on call as per shift pattern schedule.
