Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants/Support Workers to join our team, providing high-quality care to individuals in a variety of settings including care homes, assisted living, and home care environments. The successful candidates will play a vital role in supporting residents’ wellbeing, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Support residents with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Monitor and record residents' health status, reporting any changes or concerns to senior staff promptly.
- Engage residents in social activities and therapeutic programmes to promote mental and emotional wellbeing.
- Assist with mobility and heavy lifting as required, ensuring safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Manage behaviour effectively using appropriate techniques for dementia or Alzheimer's care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment in line with health and safety regulations.
- Support with end-of-life care where applicable, respecting residents’ dignity and preferences.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care home, nursing home, or home care environment is essential.
- Additional skills such as first aid certification, dementia or Alzheimer’s care training are highly advantageous.
- Must have The Care Certificate or equivalent
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform physically demanding tasks as needed.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Valid driving licence is preferred
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals’ wellbeing.
- Flexibility to work shifts that may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends as required. Pay: £12.71-£25.02 per hour
