We're looking for a hardworking, reliable and friendly Housekeeper / Cleaner to join our growing hospitality team across The Sydney Arms and The Old Ship Inn.

Pay
£12.71 per hour
About the Role
As a Housekeeper / Cleaner, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our pubs and guest accommodation are presented to the highest standard. From spotless guest rooms to sparkling public areas, you'll help create the fantastic first impression that keeps our guests coming back.
No two days are the same, and you'll be working as part of a supportive team where quality and attention to detail really matter.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare guest bedrooms and bathrooms to an exceptional standard.
- Make beds and change linen.
- Replenish guest amenities, toiletries and refreshments.
- Clean public areas including toilets, corridors, entrance areas and staff facilities.
- Vacuum, mop, dust and polish throughout the premises.
- Empty bins and dispose of waste safely.
- Report maintenance issues, damage or lost property promptly.
- Follow all cleaning schedules and checklists.
- Ensure all cleaning chemicals are used safely in line with COSHH guidance.
- Help maintain stock levels of cleaning products and linen.
- Support deep cleaning projects as required.
- Work efficiently to meet room turnaround times while maintaining excellent standards.
- Provide a friendly and welcoming attitude when interacting with guests.
What We're Looking For

- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Flexible to work weekends and bank holidays when required.
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is preferred but not essential – full training will be provided.
Hours
- Full-time and part-time positions available.
- Typical shifts are mornings and daytime hours.
- Weekend availability is essential on a rota basis.
- Additional hours are available for those looking to increase their earnings by supporting our Bar, and Restaurant. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to develop new hospitality skills.
