Overview
We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Senior Service Advisor to join our dynamic team. The Senior Service Advisor leads front-line service operations within a specialist business that sells, repairs, and services diesel fuel pumps, injectors, and services all types of vehicles.
The role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality customer service, effective workshop coordination, and accurate technical communication between customers and technicians. The post-holder will have strong automotive or diesel system knowledge, leadership ability, a proactive approach to customer satisfaction and a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Relationship Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, delivering a professional and knowledgeable service experience
- Accurately assess customer concerns and translate them into clear job instructions for the workshop and servicing team.
- Provide expert advice on diesel fuel systems, injector issues, and vehicle servicing requirements
- Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with customers
- Handle escalated customer queries and complaints, ensuring timely and effective resolution
Workshop and Servicing Bay Coordination
- Liaise closely with technicians to ensure efficient workflow and accurate diagnosis of issues
- Schedule and manage service bookings, prioritising urgent and high-value jobs
- Monitor job progress, keeping customers informed of updates, delays, and additional work required
- Ensure all work is completed to company and manufacturer standards
Technical & Commercial Management
- Prepare detailed estimates and service invoices, ensuring accuracy and transparency
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities for parts, repairs, and servicing packages
- Maintain strong knowledge of diesel fuel pumps, injectors, and vehicle systems
- Ensure correct parts are ordered and job requirements are clearly defined
Team Leadership & Support
- Support and mentor junior service advisors and administrative staff
- Promote a positive, efficient, and customer-focused team culture
- Assist in developing and improving service processes and systems
- Work alongside management to achieve departmental KPIs and revenue targets
Compliance & Administration
- Ensure all service records, job cards, and documentation are completed accurately
- Adhere to health & safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain systems for tracking jobs, parts, and customer communications
Key Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience as a Service Advisor or Senior Service Advisor within automotive, diesel, or heavy vehicle industries
- Strong working knowledge of diesel fuel systems, injectors, and vehicle servicing
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple jobs and prioritise workload effectively
- Commercial awareness with experience in estimating and upselling
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
Desirable
- Experience working with fuel injection systems or specialist diesel equipment
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience
- Familiarity with service management systems or workshop software
- Technical or mechanical qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent)

Working Hours: 08:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday with a 1-hour unpaid break (40 hours in total). Immediate start offered.
