We are looking to appoint a maternity cover part time Family Support Worker to join our dedicated Family Hubs team across Sandwell. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and collaborative service, supporting families at the heart of their communities and contributing to positive, lasting change.

As a Family Support Worker, you'll be part of a passionate workforce committed to improving outcomes for children and families through a strengths-based, trauma-informed and relational approach.
You'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact while developing your skills, working alongside experienced professionals and partner agencies across the Family Hub Network.
As a Family Support Worker, you will work directly with children, young people and families to identify strengths, build confidence and help overcome barriers to success. You will deliver targeted interventions, coordinate support and work in partnership with a range of services to ensure families can access the help they need.
No two days are the same, making this a rewarding role for someone who enjoys building relationships, problem-solving and empowering families to achieve sustainable outcomes.
You will:
- Deliver targeted family support interventions that achieve positive outcomes and service targets.
- Provide high-quality direct work with children, young people and families to build resilience and promote wellbeing.
- Support families to access appropriate universal, targeted and specialist services.
- Deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to individual family needs.
- Complete accurate case records, assessments, risk management plans and GDPR-compliant documentation.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to provide coordinated support.
- Develop effective exit plans to ensure long-term and sustainable change.
- Capture and champion the voices of children and young people, ensuring they help shape service delivery and decision-making.
We're looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about supporting families and improving outcomes for children and young people.
- Has experience of working within a strengths-based and trauma-informed framework.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Works effectively in partnership with a range of professionals and services.
- Can manage a varied caseload, prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines.
- Is flexible, adaptable and committed to delivering high-quality support.
- Monday to Friday
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to meet the needs of families and the service
✅ A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential, as the role involves regular travel across Sandwell.
Although this post is offered on a permanent contract, it is currently funded until 31 March 2029. Should funding not be extended beyond this date, the post may be subject to a redundancy consultation process or a TUPE transfer arrangement.
