Responsibilities
- Prepare work sites by clearing debris, marking boundaries, and setting up necessary equipment for surfacing projects
- Operate various vehicles and machinery safely, including trucks, rollers, compactors, and other surfacing tools
- Lay materials such as asphalt, concrete, gravel, resin or block paving with precision and efficiency
- Conduct routine maintenance on tools and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate project timelines and ensure smooth workflow
- Communicate clearly with clients and team members regarding project progress, potential issues, or adjustments needed
- Manage small teams or oversee subcontractors when required, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to standard
Skills
- Proven experience in driveway surfacing or related construction fields with a focus on quality workmanship
- Strong management skills to oversee daily operations and coordinate team activities effectively
- Excellent maintenance knowledge of machinery and tools used in surfacing projects
- Valid driving license with clean driving record for operating company vehicles and transporting materials
- Outstanding communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and team members
- Ability to follow safety protocols rigorously while working in potentially hazardous environments
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform demanding manual tasks throughout the workday
