Job Purpose
To support manufacturing operations through the safe and efficient transportation of parts, materials, and products between company manufacturing sites and local subcontractors, while also undertaking general operative duties as required. The role involves driving company vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes, loading and unloading materials, and using digital workflow systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport parts, materials, and products safely between company manufacturing sites and other designated locations as required.
- Carry out local deliveries and collections from subcontractors.
- Operate company vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes in accordance with road traffic regulations and company procedures.
- Load and unload vehicles safely using appropriate manual handling techniques and FLT equipment.
- Hold and maintain a valid Forklift Truck (FLT) licence and operate FLT equipment safely and efficiently.
- Use company-issued iPads and digital workflow systems to record deliveries, collections, stock movements, and operational activities.
- Carry out routine vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Support production, warehouse, logistics, and general operative activities as required to meet business needs.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and quality at all times.
- Comply with all company Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Valid FLT licence (Counterbalance).
- Full UK driving licence with entitlement to drive vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
- Experience loading and unloading vehicles and handling materials safely.
- Comfortable using iPads and digital systems.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Flexible approach to work with the ability to support multiple departments, sites, and external partners.
- Understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, production, warehouse, logistics, or delivery environment.
