Healthcare Assistant (Home Care) – LE5 Area (Leicester)
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Healthcare Assistant to provide dedicated one-to-one support for a gentleman in his 60s based in the LE5 area of Leicester.
This is a 2:1 care package, meaning you will always be working alongside another carer to ensure safe and effective care delivery.
Key Role Details
- Location: LE5, Leicester (community/home care setting)
- Client: Male in his 60s, wheelchair-bound and paralysed
- Hours: 2 hours per day
- Pay Rate: £15.00 per hour
- Contract Type: Zero-hour contract (flexible working)
- Start Date: Immediate start available
- Sponsorship: We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in healthcare or home care is required
- Moving and handling training (practical experience essential)
- Ability to work safely as part of a 2:1 care team
- Understanding of supporting individuals with complex physical needs
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting individuals within their own home, delivering high-quality care with professionalism, dignity, and empathy.
You will work closely with another carer and healthcare professionals to ensure the client’s needs are met safely and effectively.
Duties
- Assist the client with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Safely support all moving and handling tasks in line with training and care plans
- Work collaboratively with another carer in a 2:1 care setting
- Support the development and implementation of personalised care plans
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals, ensuring accurate documentation
- Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems
- Facilitate communication between the client, family, and healthcare professionals
- Support with meal preparation and feeding where necessary
- Assist with light domestic duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in home care or a care setting (essential)
- Moving and handling training (essential)
- Good command of English (written and spoken)
- Basic IT skills for maintaining electronic care records
- Excellent communication skills with empathy and patience
- Organised and able to manage responsibilities effectively
