Job Summary
The Bulkeley Hotel is seeking an experienced, passionate, and hands-on Food & Beverage Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our food and beverage departments. Situated in a stunning coastal location, The Bulkeley Hotel is renowned for its warm Welsh hospitality, exceptional dining experiences, and commitment to outstanding guest service.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated hospitality professional to oversee our restaurant, bar, lounge, and event catering operations. Working closely with the senior management team, you will inspire and develop your team, maintain the highest standards of food quality and service, and ensure every guest enjoys a memorable experience. The successful candidate will combine strong commercial awareness with exceptional leadership skills, helping to drive revenue, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and develop the Food & Beverage team, creating a positive and professional working environment.
- Oversee the daily operation of the restaurant, bar, lounge, and function catering to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
- Maintain consistently high standards of food presentation, beverage service, cleanliness, and customer care.
- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to deliver high-quality menus and seamless service.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety legislation, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
- Manage staffing levels, rotas, recruitment, training, and performance management to support business needs.
- Monitor stock levels, ordering, inventory control, and cost management to maximise profitability while minimising waste.
- Support the planning and delivery of weddings, conferences, private functions, and special events.
- Monitor guest feedback and implement continuous improvements to enhance the overall customer experience.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality and value.
- Resolve guest queries and complaints professionally, ensuring issues are handled promptly and effectively.
- Work collaboratively with all hotel departments to deliver a seamless and memorable guest journey.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a Food & Beverage Management role within a hotel or quality hospitality environment.
- A proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant, bar, and event operations.
- A thorough understanding of food safety, licensing regulations, and health & safety requirements.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to perform effectively in a busy environment.
- Strong financial awareness, including stock control, budgeting, and cost management.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for hospitality.
- A proactive, flexible, and hands-on approach to leadership.
