Cloud9 Fulfilment, based in Sheffield, is a growing third-party fulfilment and parcel operation handling millions of items a year for online retail brands. We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to assist our warehouse manager on the floor, ensuring daily operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This is a key role for someone ready to drive people performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of warehouse operatives across all functions.
- Allocate daily tasks and labour based on order volumes and priorities to meet despatch cut-offs.
- Conduct team briefings at the start of each shift, communicating targets and operational needs.
- Support the recruitment, induction, and on-the-job training of new and existing team members.
- Monitor attendance, timekeeping, and conduct, addressing issues promptly and escalating where necessary.
- Ensure all orders are picked, packed, and despatched accurately and on time to agreed SLAs.
- Manage goods-in processes, including receipting, checking, and putaway of inbound stock.
- Oversee returns processing, ensuring stock is inspected and returned to inventory correctly.
- Maintain stock accuracy through regular cycle counts and support periodic stock takes.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators such as productivity, accuracy, and on-time despatch.
- Champion a safe working environment, ensuring team compliance with health & safety procedures and safe use of equipment.
- Carry out and document regular safety checks, reporting hazards, incidents, and near-misses.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards across the warehouse, keeping work areas clean, organised, and audit-ready.
- Identify bottlenecks and suggest improvements to layout, process, and workflow.
- Support the implementation of new processes, systems, and ways of working.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience supervising or leading a team in a warehouse, fulfilment, logistics, or distribution environment.
- Strong people-management skills, able to motivate, set expectations, and hold a team accountable.
- Sound understanding of warehouse operations, including goods-in, picking, packing, despatch, and returns.
- Good working knowledge of health & safety practices in a warehouse setting.
- Confident using warehouse management systems (WMS) and standard IT tools.
- Well organised, with the ability to prioritise under pressure and meet daily despatch deadlines.
- Reliable, with strong timekeeping and a hands-on, lead-from-the-front attitude.
- Forklift / MHE licence (counterbalance or reach).
Desirable
- Experience in e-commerce fulfilment or third-party logistics (3PL).
- First Aid and/or Fire Marshal certification.
- Experience contributing to continuous improvement or lean initiatives.
