We work across a wide range of sectors such as national and local government, NHS healthcare facilities, education campuses, commercial offices, retail environments, and large-scale distribution centres.
The Role
As the Commercial Gas Service Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the service department, ensuring engineers are supported and contracts are delivered efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of 9 Commercial Gas Engineers and 5 Apprentices.
- Work alongside the Service Supervisor to coordinate daily workloads.
- Provide technical support and guidance to engineers.
- Mentor and develop apprentices throughout their training.
- Monitor engineer performance, productivity and quality of work.
- Support with recruitment, onboarding and staff development.
- Liaise with customers to ensure high levels of service delivery.
- Work closely with the Directors to improve operational performance and department growth.
- Assist with planning engineer resources and scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety legislation and industry regulations.
- Review service reports, KPIs and departmental performance.
- Resolve technical issues and customer escalations where required.
- Promote a positive team culture focused on safety, quality and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Previous experience managing or supervising Commercial Gas Engineers.
- Strong technical background within commercial gas service and maintenance.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to motivate, mentor and develop engineers and apprentices.
- Good organisational and planning skills.
- Strong communication skills with both customers and internal teams.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Qualifications
- Commercial Gas Qualifications (CCN1, COCN1, CODNCO1, CIGA1, ICPN1 or equivalent)
- Relevant domestic qualifications (desirable)
- Previous supervisory or management experience
- Full UK Driving Licence
