We are a small and friendly local landscaping merchant / plant hire / waste company based in Bredbury, Stockport. We are currently seeking a motivated, reliable and hardworking yard operative to join our team! This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, interacting with customers, keeping physically fit and maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
Main duties:
- Greet and assist customers, understanding their needs and guiding them to appropriate products.
- Picking and preparing customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Loading and unloading our trucks and vans, using FLT, ensuring proper handling of products to prevent damage.
- Perform regular maintenance and cleaning tasks throughout the whole of the yard to keep it safe for both employees and customers.
- Carry out regular inventory checks and report shortages or discrepancies.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- You must be physically fit as there is a lot of heavy lifting in this line of work.
- You must be able to work outside in all weathers.
From time to time there may be other duties not stated above. During busier or quieter times throughout the year you must be willing to carry out other duties.
Builders / Landscaping Merchant Experience (preferred but not essential)
FLT License (preferred but not essential, training can be provided to the right candidate)
Drivers Licence (preferred but not essential)

0700-1700 Mon-Fri
0800-1200 Sat - 1 in 1 off (Summer Months Only)
