Restaurant ManagerAbout the Role
We are looking for an experienced, capable and commercially minded Restaurant Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of our restaurant.
This role requires more than simply supervising service. We are looking for someone who can lead a team, manage restaurant operations, deliver an excellent guest experience and contribute to the commercial performance of the business.
The ideal candidate will be confident, personable and quick-thinking, with strong hospitality experience and the ability to deal professionally with customers, staff and unexpected situations.
You should be comfortable taking ownership of the restaurant and continuously looking for ways to improve service, team performance, customer satisfaction and overall business results.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day operation and performance of the restaurant.
- Lead, organise and motivate the front-of-house team to deliver consistently high standards.
- Manage busy services and ensure smooth coordination between front-of-house and kitchen teams.
- Deliver an excellent guest experience and build positive relationships with customers.
- Handle customer requests, complaints and difficult situations confidently and professionally.
- Recruit, train, develop and manage restaurant staff.
- Monitor staff performance, attendance, professionalism and service standards.
- Manage rotas and staffing levels according to business requirements.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness and restaurant presentation.
- Monitor sales, labour costs, stock control and other key operational performance indicators.
- Identify opportunities to improve sales, efficiency, customer satisfaction and profitability.
- Encourage upselling and develop a commercially aware service culture within the team.
- Take ownership of operational problems and make effective decisions when unexpected situations arise.
- Work closely with senior management to continuously improve the restaurant and achieve business targets.
Requirements
- Previous restaurant or hospitality management experience is essential.
- Strong experience in a full-service restaurant environment is required.
- Proven experience leading and managing a restaurant or hospitality team.
- Fluent spoken English and excellent communication skills are essential.
- Confident, personable and professional when interacting with customers.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly under pressure.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of sales, staffing, costs and restaurant performance.
- Able to take responsibility and make independent operational decisions.
- Strong understanding of customer service and the ability to create a welcoming and memorable guest experience.
- Reliable, organised and results-driven.
- Basic conversational Chinese would be an advantage, but is not essential.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in social media management, content creation or restaurant marketing would be a strong advantage.
- Experience creating engaging restaurant content for platforms such as Instagram or TikTok would be particularly welcome.
- An understanding of how social media, customer reviews and online reputation can help attract customers and build the restaurant brand would be beneficial.
- Experience developing promotions, increasing sales or improving restaurant performance would be an advantage.
Salary & Bonus
£14.00–£18.00 per hour, depending on experience
Plus performance-based bonus
The Restaurant Manager will have the opportunity to earn additional bonuses based on performance. Bonus considerations may include areas such as restaurant sales, customer satisfaction, team performance, operational standards and overall business results.
We want to reward managers who take genuine ownership of the restaurant and make a measurable contribution to its success.
Pay: £14.00-£18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
