Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Cafe Manager/Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our bustling café. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a comprehensive understanding of food preparation and service. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer experiences, maintaining food safety standards, and managing the overall efficiency of the café. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming environment while ensuring smooth operational flow.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the café team, including baristas, servers, and kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality standards are met consistently.
- Manage daily operational tasks such as opening and closing procedures, stock control, and cash handling.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all areas of the café.
- Organise staff schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and monitor performance to optimise team productivity.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer queries and resolving any issues promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the café environment to uphold health standards.
- Assist in menu planning, new product development, and promotional activities to attract customers.
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to increase revenue whilst controlling costs.
- Support training programmes for new staff members in food safety, service standards, and operational procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience in supervising or managing within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and food production processes.
- Previous experience in serving or hospitality roles such as barista or front-of-house service is desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure.
- Familiarity with kitchen operations, restaurant management systems, and health & safety regulations.
- Exceptional communication skills with a friendly demeanour suitable for customer interaction.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making within a fast-paced environment.
