We are currently seeking a motivated and occupationally competent Work-Based Assessor to join our experienced and dedicated assessment team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with experience in management, business administration, or learning and development who is passionate about helping others develop their skills and achieve nationally recognised qualifications.
Previous assessment experience is desirable but not essential, as full training and support in assessment methodologies will be provided for the right candidate.
The Role
As a Work-Based Assessor, you will support learners throughout their qualification journey, ensuring they receive a high-quality, engaging, and developmental learning experience. You will assess competence against national occupational standards while building strong relationships with learners and employer partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess learners undertaking Management and Business Administration qualifications against national occupational standards.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with learners, employers, and client organisations.
- Provide outstanding customer service and learner support throughout the assessment process.
- Develop and adapt learning materials and resources to meet individual learner needs.
- Monitor learner progress and provide regular feedback, guidance, and encouragement.
- Participate in standardisation and quality assurance activities.
- Maintain accurate and compliant learner records in line with funding and awarding body requirements.
- Provide regular progress updates and reports.
- Achieve individual performance targets and contribute to wider team objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards.

Essential
- Occupational competence and experience in Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities.

- Good IT and digital skills.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality learning and assessment services.
Desirable
- Assessor qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Experience of work-based learning, apprenticeships, or vocational qualifications.
- Learning and Development experience.
- Knowledge of Scottish vocational qualification frameworks and funding requirements.
