We're looking for a compassionate and motivated Energy Support Officer to join our Community Partnerships Service.
This rewarding role is at the heart of supporting residents experiencing high energy costs and housing-related challenges. You'll work directly with households across the borough, providing practical advice, guidance and support to help residents improve energy efficiency, reduce energy bills and access the assistance available to them

About the role
In this varied role, you will:

Carry out energy efficiency assessments and identify opportunities to improve household energy performance.
- Provide advice and guidance to residents on energy conservation, reducing energy costs and improving affordability.
- Support residents experiencing fuel poverty and help them access relevant schemes, initiatives and services.
- Liaise with energy suppliers on behalf of customers where additional support is required.
- Undertake home visits and follow-up appointments across the borough.
- Carry out damp and mould assessments within council homes and provide practical advice to tenants.
- Maintain accurate case records and performance information in line with GDPR requirements.
- Promote the service through community events, campaigns, publications and outreach activities.
- Work with colleagues and partner organisations to ensure residents receive the right support at the right time
About you
We're looking for someone who combines excellent customer service skills with a passion for supporting local communities.
You will have:

Experience of delivering projects, initiatives or advice services.
- Experience working directly with members of the public and providing advice and support.
- Knowledge of domestic energy efficiency, fuel poverty or related areas, or the ability to quickly develop your expertise.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with a wide range of people.
- The ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently.
- Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and database systems.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and supporting vulnerable residents.
