THE ROLE
As a Senior Carer at Stratton Court, you will be a cornerstone of the care team, leading shifts, acting as a mentor to junior colleagues and ensuring our residents receive truly person-centred care throughout the day or night. This is a role for someone who takes genuine pride in their work, leads by example, and wants to be part of a team that sets the standard.
You will work closely with the Unit Lead and Care Home Manager, contributing to care plans, supporting medication rounds and playing a key part in making Stratton Court a place residents call home.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead and supervise your shift, acting as first point of contact for residents, families and the wider team
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate personal care in line with individual care plans
- Administer and accurately record medication, maintaining stock levels
- Update digital care plans and risk assessments in a timely and accurate manner
- Mentor and support junior care staff, sharing skills and setting a positive example
- Liaise effectively with GPs, district nurses, families and visiting professionals
- Respond calmly and confidently to changing resident needs, including end of life care
- Uphold the dignity, privacy and independence of every resident at all times
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- NVQ Level 3 (or Level 2 with willingness to work towards Level 3) in Health & Social Care
- Proven experience as a Senior Carer or Care Assistant ready to step up
- Confident administering medication and updating digital care records
- A natural leader, warm, calm and motivating under pressure
- Strong communication skills and a genuine compassion for older people
- Experience in dementia care is particularly valued

*Welcome bonus paid in two instalments: £250 after 1 month, £250 on successful completion of probationary period. Subject to satisfactory performance.
Pay: From £16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24.0 – 48.0 per week
