Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Post-vention Project Worker to support children and families following traumatic events or crises. This paid role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference by providing essential emotional and practical support during critical recovery periods. As a key member of our team, you will help implement tailored care plans, facilitate healing, and ensure children’s needs are prioritized with sensitivity and professionalism. Duties
- Collaborate with families, schools, and community partners to develop and implement a post-vention support programme for children and families affected by suicide trauma
- Provide direct support to children through engaging activities, counseling, and reassurance to promote emotional well-being
- Assist in coordinating post-incident interventions, including referrals to additional services or mental health professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation of the project and provide written reports when required throughout the project
- Use effective communication skills to explain procedures, listen actively, and build trusting relationships with children and their families
- Drive to various locations as needed to deliver outreach services or attend meetings within the community
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in educational, social service, or childcare settings is essential
- Valid driving license with a clean driving record to facilitate transportation needs
- Knowledge of child development principles and experience of delivering support through a trauma informed approach
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in IT systems for record-keeping, reporting, and managing case information
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while handling sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
- Commitment to safeguarding policies and maintaining confidentiality at all times
