Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Furniture Sales Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a passion for customer service. As a Hopewells Furniture Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions to enhance their experience. Your ability to upsell products and maintain a positive relationship with clients will be key to your success in this role.
This role will include weekend working. Usually 1 weekend day per week with a 2nd day off mid-week. On occasion working both weekend days with 2 days off mid-week.
The hours are 9:00am to 5:30pm except for Sundays and bank holiday Mondays which are 10:00am until 4:00pm.
This role is commission rewarded. As a full time position, there is a basic salary of £24,784. Commission is paid in addition to the basic salary at a rate of 1% and then there are targeted products where an increased rate is paid (full details will be given at interview). There is no target to achieve before commission. You are expected to achieve a good rate of sale as part of the furniture sales team.
Duties
- Engage with customers to identify their needs and provide appropriate product recommendations.
- Demonstrate strong merchandising skills to effectively showcase products and promotions.
- Utilise excellent communication skills to interact with customers both in-person and over the phone, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Manage time efficiently to handle multiple customer inquiries while maintaining organisational standards.
- Employ basic math skills for processing transactions and managing inventory.
- Upsell additional products or services that align with customer needs, enhancing their overall experience.
- Maintain an organised workspace and ensure that all merchandise is displayed attractively.
- Assist in training new staff members on sales techniques and company policies as required.
Requirements
- Proficiency in English is essential
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
- Excellent time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Organisational skills to maintain an orderly workspace and manage inventory efficiently.
- Manage your customer orders to suppliers, updating customers when required.
- Working as part of a team to ensure all aftersales issues are effectively dealt with in order to exceed customer expectations.
