Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Legal Administrator to join our professional team at work within the Conveyancing. As a Legal Administrator, you will provide essential administrative support to our busy Conveyancing Department, assisting experienced solicitors and conveyancers with residential property transactions from instruction through to completion. Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to solicitors and conveyancers.
- Open new client files and complete onboarding procedures, including ID and compliance checks.
- Prepare and format legal documents, correspondence, and standard conveyancing forms.
- Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, brokers, and other solicitors.
- Handle incoming telephone calls, emails, and client enquiries professionally.
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper files using the firm's case management system.
- Request searches and assist with preparing contract packs and completion documents.
- Arrange appointments, manage diaries, and organise meetings where required.
- Scan, file, copy, and upload documents to the case management system.
- Assist the conveyancing team with all aspects of the transaction process to ensure matters progress efficiently.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working as a Legal Administrator, Legal Secretary, Administrative Assistant, or within a conveyancing department is preferred but not essential.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and case management systems.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
Desirable Qualifications
- Previous experience within residential conveyancing or a legal environment.
- A law degree or relevant legal/administrative qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
