Experienced General Builder / Multi-Skilled Builder
£18–£21 per hour depending on experience and capability

D&M Building Services is an established residential contractor specialising in extensions, loft conversions, structural alterations and major refurbishments across the East Midlands.
With a strong pipeline of secured projects, we’re looking for an experienced General Builder / Multi-Skilled Builder to join our directly employed team.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll carry out the core building and structural work around our specialist trade packages, including:
- Groundworks and excavations
- Foundations and footings
- Drainage
- Insulation, DPM, reinforcement and concrete slabs
- Brickwork and blockwork
- Forming structural openings
- Acrow propping and temporary support
- Installing structural steels
- Making good following structural alterations
- Floor structures and joists
- Timber studwork and general first-fix carpentry
- Preparing projects ready for specialist trades
- General building work across extensions, conversions and refurbishments
You’ll be working from architects’ drawings, structural engineers’ calculations and project information provided by our team.
We need someone who can be given a drawing, a clearly defined package of work and a target, understand what needs doing and take that work through to completion without needing every stage explained.
What we’re looking for
- Strong general building experience
- Experience on residential extensions and structural alterations
- Confident with groundworks and structural work
- Able to read architects’ drawings and understand structural information
- Practical understanding of construction sequencing
- Competent brickwork/blockwork and general first-fix carpentry
- Comfortable working alongside specialist subcontractors
- Reliable and able to flag problems early
- Valid CSCS card
- Full UK driving licence and own transport
