Are you a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse looking to play a key role in ensuring patients receive outstanding care before surgery?
At One Ashford Hospital, part of Phoenix Hospital Group, we're looking for a dedicated Pre-Assessment Nurse to join our friendly and supportive Outpatient team. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys working autonomously while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, high-quality patient care.
As a Pre-Assessment Nurse, you'll be responsible for preparing patients for surgery by carrying out comprehensive pre-operative assessments, coordinating investigations and ensuring each patient is fully informed and supported throughout their journey.
You'll work closely with consultants, anaesthetists and the wider clinical team to deliver an exceptional patient experience while maintaining the highest standards of clinical care and safety.
- Deliver comprehensive pre-operative assessments to ensure patients are fit for surgery.
- Carry out clinical procedures including phlebotomy, cannulation and ECGs.
- Coordinate investigations and liaise with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care.
- Educate patients on their procedures, medications and post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.
- Support discharge planning and contribute to continuous service improvement.
- Participate in clinical audits and quality initiatives to maintain excellent standards of care.

You'll have:

Registered Nurse (NMC) qualification.
- Previous clinical nursing experience within an acute surgical setting.
- Experience or an interest in pre-assessment nursing.
- Competence in phlebotomy, cannulation and ECGs.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong IT skills and experience using electronic patient record systems.
- A caring, compassionate and patient-focused approach.
Desirable:

Previous experience working in a Pre-Assessment Clinic.
- Experience within the independent healthcare sector.
