The Opportunity
VISION is currently recruiting a Financial Controller based in central Edinburgh who will report to the Group COO. As the Financial Controller you will be a key member of the Senior Management team, providing financial support to assist the company in achieving its key objectives; key elements will include providing financial analysis and insight into the operational activities of the business whilst ensuring a robust control environment and balance sheet integrity. You will be responsible for the entire Finance function of the company. The role may also suit a Management Accountant ready for a step up into a commercially focused, Financial Controller position.
The position is 3 days per week with hybrid working from home and presence required in our Edinburgh office. Occasional travel to Dublin.
What You’ll Do
· Working with the CEO and management team to manage the profitability and operational efficiency of the business
· Production of monthly management accounts covering three (UK, Ireland & US) trading entities
· Weekly rolling Group accounting forecasts for the next two quarters, and to year end
· Managing weekly Group Cash flow forecast
· Ensuring the Group is compliant to legislation where it operates, VAT, Revenue, Payroll taxes
· Working with Project Managers to maximise the profitability of the engagements they are managing
· Two payrolls, UK and Ireland (Sage and Xero)
· Ensuring financial controls are monitored and in place throughout the company
· Year-end Statutory Accounts and Group Consolidation
· Liaising with Auditors, Banks and Professional advisors
· Managing Investments
· This is a hands-on role alongside staff management of a team of two.
What We’re Looking For
· Qualified Accountant CIMA, CA or ACCA with relevant PQE, preferably gained in a professional services environment
· Ability to manage the detail, but to see the bigger picture
· Ability to be hands on, strong analytic skills with the ability to convert data into analysis / information which enable internal stakeholders to understand business performance and make informed decisions
· A robust individual, excellent communication skills which will enable you to influence operational Teams and management behavior
· Good negotiation and influencing skills
· Strong project experience, a desire to be involved in projects
· Experience of system improvements - able to develop new ways of working to streamline operations and remove non-value add activities
· Experience or desire to learn about transfer pricing, foreign exchange impact and consolidation accounting.
Pay: £50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
