Welsh-Speaking Lecturer in Public Services

Excell Supply is delighted to be recruiting for a Welsh-speaking Lecturer and Programme Leader in Public Services to join a growing Further Education provision based in Anglesey.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or Public Services professional looking to take the next step into Further Education. The successful candidate will play an important role in shaping and developing the future of the Public Services programme, inspiring learners and helping them take their first steps towards rewarding careers within the sector.
The role
As Lecturer and Programme Leader, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging teaching and supporting learners throughout their educational journey.
You will be encouraged to draw on your own professional and teaching experience to bring learning to life, giving students a realistic insight into the duties, challenges, opportunities and rewards associated with careers in Public Services.
Key responsibilities
Supporting and assessing learners
- Provide advice and guidance to prospective and current learners.
- Assess previous learning, experience and individual support needs.
- Contribute to learner interviews, selection and initial assessments.
- Support effective induction and registration with the college and awarding bodies.
- Provide pastoral, academic and career guidance throughout the learner journey.
Planning and delivering teaching
- Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and learning programmes in line with awarding body requirements.
- Plan engaging lessons that meet a range of individual learning needs.
- Embed literacy, numeracy and essential skills within the curriculum.
- Support learners to use Welsh or English according to their language preference wherever possible.
- Use a range of teaching methods, resources and digital technology to create engaging learning experiences.
Managing the learning environment
- Create a safe, inclusive and effective learning environment.
- Encourage participation, motivation and independent learning.
- Set challenging tasks and agree appropriate individual targets with learners.
- Manage behaviour effectively and address barriers to learning.
- Build positive working relationships with learners, colleagues and programme teams.
- Liaise with external organisations and support work experience placements where appropriate.
Assessment and learner progress
- Plan and deliver appropriate assessment strategies in line with awarding body requirements.
- Use a range of fair and effective assessment methods.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to learners within appropriate timescales.
- Maintain accurate assessment and learner records.
- Communicate progress and relevant information with colleagues, parents, employers and awarding bodies where appropriate.
Quality assurance and programme development
- Contribute to college quality assurance and self-assessment processes.
- Support the evaluation and continuous improvement of programmes and modules.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with college systems and procedures.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and growth of the Public Services provision.
- Evaluate your own teaching practice and use feedback to improve learner outcomes.
- Keep up to date with developments within the Public Services sector and Further Education.
- Participate in performance review and relevant continuing professional development.
About you

The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience of teaching, training or working within an educational environment.
- Relevant experience or knowledge of the Public Services sector.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging, inclusive learning experiences.
- A learner-centred approach and commitment to individual development.
- Strong organisational, assessment and administrative skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.
- Fluency in both Welsh and English.
