Job Title: Carer – Daycare Centre for Adults
Location: WOW Daycare [Hackney]
Salary: From £13.00 per hour
Hours: Part-Time, Thursday 12:45 PM – 3:15 PM (with potential for additional hours)
Job Overview:
We are seeking dedicated, compassionate, and proactive Carers to join our innovative Daycare Centre for Adults. Our mission is to provide high-quality care and support to Adults in a safe, stimulating, and friendly environment. The role involves engaging in meaningful activities, supporting their physical and emotional well-being, and ensuring they have a positive and enjoyable experience during their time at the centre.
We also run a service where we visit care homes to deliver daycare and recreational activities tailored to the needs of residents.

You will receive comprehensive, intensive training to prepare you for all aspects of care provision, including advanced communication techniques, emotional support strategies, Care Certificate and activity facilitation.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide Personal Care: Assist with daily living activities such as feeding, grooming, and personal hygiene, ensuring dignity and respect are maintained at all times.
Engage in Innovative Activities: Plan, lead, and participate in creative and interactive activities that enhance physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being, such as:
Art therapy sessions
Memory-enhancement games and reminiscence therapy
Gentle exercise programs like chair yoga and tai chi
Music and dance therapy
Cooking or baking classes focused on cultural heritage
Interactive storytelling or virtual reality experiences for mental stimulation
Emotional Support: Build strong, trusting relationships with adults and their families, offering companionship and emotional support to enhance their quality of life.
Monitor Health: Observe and report changes in physical or mental health, ensuring that appropriate care is provided, and escalate issues to senior healthcare professionals when necessary.
Safe Environment: Help maintain a safe and clean environment within the centre, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other carers, healthcare professionals, and volunteers to provide a holistic approach to senior care.
Workshops & Training: Attend regular training workshops to keep up with the latest care techniques, health and safety guidelines, and innovative approaches to care.
Requirements:
Experience: Prior experience in caregiving or senior care is preferred but not essential. A passion for working with the elderly is a must.
Training: Willingness to undergo intensive training covering a range of topics, including dementia care, communication strategies, safeguarding, and activity facilitation.
Qualifications: A qualification in health and social care (or willingness to obtain one) is an advantage but not required.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills to effectively interact with adults, families, and the care team.
Empathy & Patience: A compassionate and understanding approach to care, with the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and those with different levels of independence.
Flexibility: Must be available to work on Thursdays between 12:45 PM and 3:15 PM, with occasional opportunities for additional shifts during the week.
