SIA Matchday Security Officer
Location: Rotherham
Pay: £14.00–£16.00 per hour, depending on role, qualifications and deployment
Work Pattern: Flexible matchday and event work, including evenings and weekends
About the Role
IPM Group is recruiting professional and reliable SIA Matchday Security Officers to support football matchday operations in Rotherham.
You will work as part of an experienced safety and security team responsible for creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for supporters, staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
Your duties may include:
- Conducting pre-event and post-event safety and security checks
- Searching spectators and their belongings in accordance with venue procedures
- Controlling access to restricted and authorised areas
- Monitoring entry points, exits and perimeter areas
- Supporting the safe and efficient ingress and egress of spectators
- Assisting with crowd management and ensuring safety plans are followed
- Identifying and reporting suspicious, unsafe or anti-social behaviour
- Using conflict-management techniques to prevent situations from escalating
- Providing spectators with clear information, assistance and directions
- Responding professionally to incidents and emergencies
- Completing accurate incident reports and security documentation
- Assisting with ejections or physical interventions when lawful, necessary, authorised and within your training
Specific duties will depend on the venue, event and position to which you are deployed.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence
- Have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom
- Be available to work weekends, evenings and football matchdays
- Be able to communicate clearly and professionally
- Be willing to complete all required venue inductions and mandatory training
- Be able to remain standing and active for extended periods
- Be willing to undergo the required vetting and screening process
- Complete the Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety training provided or arranged by IPM
Applicants who already hold a recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Spectator Safety qualification should provide evidence during the recruitment process.
Applicants who do not currently hold the qualification will be required to enrol on and complete IPM’s Level 2 Spectator Safety training programme. This will include online learning, practical training and workplace assessment during live events.
Continued deployment may be dependent upon satisfactory progress and completion of the qualification within the timeframe set by IPM.

Previous experience in football, sporting events, concerts, hospitality or crowd safety would be beneficial, but venue-specific training will be provided.
Screening and Vetting
All successful applicants will be required to complete identity, right-to-work, employment-history and security checks.
Vetting will be conducted in accordance with IPM procedures and the relevant requirements of BS 7858:2019.
