We're looking for a Quality Analyst to join us in Birmingham on an 18 month FTC. Your Role
As a Quality Analyst, you will play a key role in ensuring product quality and customer satisfaction by resolving quality issues efficiently and identifying their root causes. Working closely with Operations and wider ZEISS teams, you will analyse product and process performance, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, reduce waste and improve operational efficiency.
The role of Quality Analyst will involve:
- Assessing technical rejects and order-related quality issues, determining the most effective resolution within agreed service levels.
- Performing structured root cause analysis on non-conformances, customer complaints and process deviations.
- Identifying trends in defects and quality performance using SAP and other reporting tools to drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collaborating with Production, Team Leaders and Training teams to implement process improvements and support key operational KPIs.
- Conducting quality audits, providing technical guidance to operational teams, and maintaining compliance with Health & Safety and quality standards.
Your Experience
- Minimum of 3 years' experience within the optical lens or frame industry (including surfacing or glazing).
- Strong understanding of optical lens manufacturing processes and products.
- Analytical, inquisitive and customer-focused approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Confident communicator, comfortable engaging directly with customers and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Able to commute to our Birmingham facility.
It would be desirable if you had:
- Experience cutting, edging and fitting lenses into a variety of frame types.
- Previous experience in an optical manufacturing environment or relevant qualifications within the optics or vision care industry.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives and quality performance improvements within a manufacturing environment

Role Details
Location: 22 Gas Street, Birmingham, B1 2JT
Working Pattern: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Contract: 18-month FTC
