Job Summary
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, compassionate and motivated Senior /Team Leader to join our small residential care home supporting up to four adults with learning disabilities, autism and behaviours that may challenge.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will work alongside the Registered Manager to ensure the highest standards of person-centred care are delivered. You will lead by example, support and supervise staff, coordinate shifts and help maintain compliance with CQC standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead shifts and support the day-to-day running of the home.
- Provide high-quality, person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, autism and behaviours that may challenge.
- Administer medication and ensure accurate medication records are maintained.
- Complete and review care plans, risk assessments and daily records.
- Act as a Link Worker/Key Worker and liaise with families and multidisciplinary professionals.
- Supervise, mentor and support staff and assist with the induction of new employees.
- Support the Registered Manager with staff rotas and the effective running of the service.
- Promote independence, dignity, choice and positive outcomes for the people we support.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures, policies and CQC standards are consistently followed.
- Lead by example and maintain a positive, supportive working environment.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of two years’ experience supporting adults with learning disabilities in a residential care setting.(Level-3 Health & Social Care)
- Experience supporting people with autism and behaviors that may challenge.
- Previous experience leading shifts or supervising staff.
- Experience administering medication.
- Good knowledge of safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and person-centered care.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible to work a Rota, including weekends and to provide additional support where required.
