Job Title: Workshop Sessional Facilitator
Location: Blackley, Manchester
Hours of Work: 4 hours
Sessional / Casual Basis: Typical working hours: 9:30 am – 1:30 pm
Salary:£13.00 per hour
DBS Requirement: Enhanced DBS may be required for this role.
A full, clean UK Driving Licence and access to a car are desirable for this role, but not essential.
About The Widows Empowerment Trust
The Widows Empowerment Trust is a community organisation dedicated to reducing loneliness, social isolation, and emotional hardship experienced by widows, widowers, and bereaved individuals. We provide emotional support, wellbeing activities, workshops, practical guidance, social engagement opportunities, and community-based services that empower individuals to rebuild confidence and improve their wellbeing.

Purpose of the Role
The Workshop Sessional Facilitator will support the planning, organisation, and delivery of workshops, wellbeing sessions, and community activities for widows, widowers, and other vulnerable adults accessing our services.
The role involves supporting participants emotionally and practically during sessions, helping create a positive and engaging environment, and ensuring activities are delivered safely and effectively.
This role requires flexibility, compassion, professionalism, and a strong understanding of working within diverse community settings.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and delivery of workshops, wellbeing sessions, and community activities.
- Support and engage with service users during sessions.
- Help create a warm, welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment.
- Assist with preparing resources, refreshments, and workshop materials.
- Set up and clear away rooms before and after sessions.
- Arrange transport for clients, including Ring & Ride services, taxis, and Uber bookings.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, equality, and organisational policies.
- Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
- Call clients to confirm attendance for workshops and activities.
- Help prepare meals and serve food during sessions.
