Role Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children’s Residential Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people in residential care.
This position involves working closely with children and young people to promote their emotional well-being, personal development, and independence, while ensuring that individual care plans are implemented effectively. Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Support children and young people with daily routines and activities, promoting their emotional, social, and personal development.
· Assist in the implementation of individualised care plans tailored to each child’s specific needs.
· Maintain a safe, caring, and structured environment in line with behaviour management strategies and safety procedures.
· Encourage participation in educational, recreational, and community-based activities.
· Provide emotional support and guidance to help children and young people build resilience, confidence, and independence.
· Support transportation requirements, including driving children to school, appointments, and other activities where necessary.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of daily activities, incidents, and progress in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
· Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure a consistent and joined-up approach to care.
· Promote safeguarding by recognising, responding to, and reporting any concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.
Experience and Skills
· Previous experience working with children or in a childcare setting is essential.
· A relevant qualification is desirable, though not essential, as full training will be provided.
· Upon successful completion of the probationary period, suitable candidates will be enrolled onto the Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
· Knowledge of child development and behaviour management strategies would be advantageous.
· Experience of working with care plans, including following or contributing to them, would be beneficial.
· Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
· Good IT skills to support accurate record-keeping and reporting.
· A valid driving licence is preferred but not essential to support transportation duties.

Pay: £26,000.00-£28,250.00 per year
