Job Summary
MJD Mechanical & Electrical Services are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Project Manager to oversee and manage mechanical projects from inception to completion across the South and Southwest of the UK.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project timelines, budgets, and teams, ensuring the successful delivery of projects that meet quality standards and client specifications. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong leadership skills and a solid background in mechanical plumbing systems, and project management.
Duties
Lead and supervise multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors.
Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and budgeting.
Oversee the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and technical specifications.
Manage the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery to meet project deadlines.
Review schematics, technical drawings, and PLC programmes to ensure accuracy and functionality.
Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and internal departments to facilitate smooth project execution.
Monitor project progress through regular site visits and meetings; address any issues or delays proactively.
Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety regulations and organisational policies.
Prepare comprehensive reports on project status for senior management
Take responsibility for the overall performance of your team
Qualifications/ Experience
- Proven experience in managing simultaneous Mechanical projects ranging from £80,000 to £5,000,000 within Healthcare/ Schools/ commercial projects.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations is an advantage.
- Experience of managing health and safety procedures along with knowledge of H&S standards/regulations across multiple sites
- SSSTS/SMSTS, JIB/BESA, CSCS Card, First Aid.
- Full UK Driving License
- Must be within a commutable distance of BS5/ Bristol. Job split between Office and Site based work. We will not consider hybrid working.
