We are looking for a 1:1 SEN practitioner to support a child with additional needs to join our nursery.
The candidate will work 15 hours per week, working 3 hours a day 9.00am -12.00pm Monday to Friday term time only. This could increase to 30 hours per week.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working alongside the room leader and Sendco to meet the needs of the child.
- You will be the child's key worker and complete the child's tapestry to feed back to parents each sessions.
- Responsible for the 1:1 care of the individual child to support their individual educational plan (IEP) and to liaise with the Room leader on a daily basis
- Writing and updating the IEP and liaising with the relevant representatives and Sendco.
- Work closely with external professionals or agencies involved.
- Ensure you are up to date with the latest strategies and techniques to support and work closely with the family to find out key interests for the child.
- Safeguarding the child, including caring for them and supervising them at all times.
- Adhering to the Nurseries Policies and procedures at all times.
Key attributes of an applicant include:
- Childcare qualification would be desirable.
- Previous experience of working within a nursery.
- Organised, reliable and a good communicator.
- Good team player.
- The role would require a DBS check.
Pay: £194.55 per week
