Job Summary
We are seeking a Loom Technician/Weaver to join our manufacturing team. You will work a 39 hour week over 4 days - Monday to Thursday. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, operating and optimising loom machinery to ensure efficient production of our theatrical cloth . This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a interest in machinery and manufacturing generally. The position is suitable for those eager to develop their technical expertise within a traditional yet modernising industrial environment.
Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on looms and related equipment to minimise downtime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to ensure continuous operation.
- Operate the loom and manufacture various cloths as required
- Handle materials efficiently within the shed setting, ensuring proper storage and movement of components.
- Maintain detailed records of production and maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications for compliance and future reference.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise production workflows and improve machine performance.
Experience
- Experience working with textile machinery or looms can be beneficial but not required; full training will be provided for suitable candidates eager to learn.
- Any experience of textiles or manufacturing generally would be useful.
- Practical skills with tools and other mechanical apparatus would be beneficial.
