Through our Thrive at Home service, we provide individually tailored, person-centred support to people living in their own homes, helping them build confidence, independence and meaningful daily routines while living fulfilling lives within their communities.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who shares our values and is passionate about mental health and recovery. As a Recovery Worker, you will support individuals with their daily activities both at home and in the community, promoting dignity, independence, wellbeing and choice. The role is highly person-centred and recovery-focused, with zero to minimal hands-on personal care, making it ideal for someone who wants to support people to achieve greater independence and a positive quality of life.
Responsibilities
Support plans will be individualised, but some of the responsibilities included in the role of Recovery Workers include;
- Zero to minimal hands-on personal care.
- Promoting service-users wellbeing, dignity, and independence
- Encouraging community integration and social activities
- Supporting service users with activities of daily living and to find meaningful occupation, hobbies, voluntary or paid work
- Monitoring any changes in mental state and physical health
- Promoting a healthy, balanced lifestyle
- Supporting service users to attend appointments
- Monitoring and administering medication (mandatory training provided and required)
We also provide access to the community for individuals, providing them with social companionship and supporting them with activities and appointments. As part of our community outreach we run social groups around Swansea and Neath Port Talbot to meet the social and emotional needs of not only our clients but anyone else who wants to join us.
Shift Patterns:
Our Thrive at Home service operates 7 days a week, with flexible shift patterns scheduled between 7:00am and 9:00pm, depending on individual care packages and service user needs. Staff are not expected to work continuously throughout these hours; shifts are allocated within the operating window and will vary according to the needs of the people we support.
Most morning medication calls take place from around 8:00–9:00am onwards, with the middle of the day typically including flexible calls such as supporting individuals to access the community, shopping and other meaningful daily activities. Evening medication calls generally begin around 4:00–5:00pm.
The role therefore offers a varied and flexible pattern of work, with individual shifts and working hours agreed according to service requirements and the needs of the people we support.
Requirements:
- Enhanced Adult DBS check
- Full UK Driving licence is essential
- Willingness to complete Level 2 Apprenticeship in Health & Social Care (fully supported)
- Experience in social care is helpful but not essential – full induction and training provided
- Understanding of mental illness and common diagnoses (schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, personality disorder) is beneficial
