We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated in-person tutors to join our team in and around Leeds. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives by providing personalised academic support across various subjects.
At The Motivated Learner we do things a bit differently. All of our tutors are expected to complete our Trauma Informed Educators course, as this style of practice is at the heart of everything we do.
We primarily get requests for KS3-A Level English, Maths and Science. However, we do get requests for other age ranges and subjects from time to time as well so do sign up to our pool to tutors.
You will help foster confidence, improve understanding, and inspire a love for learning.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, tailored tutoring sessions in person for students of diverse ages and skill levels
- Assess each student’s strengths and areas for improvement to develop effective learning plans
- Use clear communication skills to explain concepts and answer questions thoroughly
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special education needs, unique learning styles and/or experiences with education
- Track student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to students and parents when appropriate
- Maintain a positive, encouraging environment that motivates students to reach their academic goals
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, or school staff as needed to support student success
Experience
- Must have QTS and prior experience
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students requiring special education accommodations
- Strong communication skills that facilitate clear instruction and active listening
- Experience working with diverse student populations is a plus
- Passion for education and helping others succeed in their academic pursuits
