Part-Time Cook/Kitchen Assistant
City Food & Drink Catering Services is an independent catering company seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Part-Time Cook/Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in kitchen work, catering, and food preparation, who is confident supporting both cooking and day-to-day kitchen operations. We are looking for a candidate who is hands-on, organised, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a busy team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and cooking for buffets, working lunches, and other catered events
- Support plating and serving meals to a high standard
- Prepare and set up function rooms both on-site and at client venues
- Carry out cleaning duties in kitchen and dining areas, including washing utensils, crockery, and cutlery
- Restock supplies, check deliveries, and label and store food items correctly
- Help maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety
- Support stock control and general kitchen organisation

- Experience working in a kitchen, catering, or food service environment
- Some cooking experience and confidence preparing food
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently when needed
- Reliable, hardworking, and self-motivated approach
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Experience in a busy kitchen or catering setting
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate – Level 1 preferred
- Understanding of food hygiene, personal hygiene, and health and safety procedures
- Knowledge of food safety management systems is an advantage
- Good awareness of stock handling, storage, and cleanliness standards

Pay: £12.71 per hour
