We are seeking a motivated and skilled Joiner/Carpenter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, and installing structures and fixtures using a variety of hand tools and power tools. Your expertise in carpentry and joinery will contribute to the successful completion of diverse projects, from residential to commercial builds. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects that require precision, craftsmanship, and a proactive approach.
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install timber and other materials with precision and attention to detail
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to fabricate and assemble components according to specifications
- Construct frameworks for roofing, flooring, walls, doors, windows, and cabinetry
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while maintaining proper technique to prevent injury
- Assist with construction painting, finishing work, and surface preparation as needed
- Collaborate with project managers and other trades such as plumbing, electrical, masonry, and roofing teams to ensure seamless project execution
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, carpentry, or joinery within the construction industry
- Proficiency with hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers) and power tools (drills, sanders)
- Strong knowledge of construction techniques including roofing, framing, and finishing
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on-site
- Basic understanding of plumbing, masonry, electrical systems or experience working alongside these trades is a plus
- Knowledge of construction painting techniques for surface finishing projects
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship
- Valid certifications or training in carpentry or joinery preferred but not mandatory
