Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Decorator/Painter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, finishes, and decorative coatings to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality standards and attention to detail. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming prior to painting or decorating
- Apply paints, varnishes, stains, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Ensure colour matching and finish consistency according to project specifications
- Protect surrounding areas and surfaces from splashes or overspray during application
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition and report any repairs needed
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients to understand project requirements
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times during work activities
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating preferred
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for travel between sites
- Good command of English language for effective communication with team members and clients
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interpret instructions clearly
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship
- Physical fitness to undertake manual tasks including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working at heights if required
