Central Connect Transport Ltd is part of Transport Made Simple, a fast growing independent bus and coach operator, and we're looking for bus drivers to join our friendly team at our Chelmsford Depot. If you're a PCV (category D) licence holder, come and work for us and drive our modern buses on local bus services across Brentwood, Epping, Harlow and Waltham Abbey. You'll also cover home to school and rail replacement bus services as required.
You'll be working from our Chelmsford Depot, part of Central connect, located in Rettendon Common
We operate a modern fleet of Alexander Dennis Enviro200 MMC single deck service buses, along with a small fleet of Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibuses.
Our bus drivers work on a rolling rota, working five days, with shifts starting and finishing between 05:00 and 23:00, Monday to Saturday (£15.80) or Monday to Sunday (£16.80). Every other Saturday off. If you are looking for permanent late shifts this could be considered.
What do we need from you?
- A Category D driving licence
- The unrestricted right to work in the UK
- A flexible, helpful and customer-focused approach
We do expect drivers to put fuel, AdBlue and screenwash into their buses at the start / end of their shifts as required. We also require all vehicles to be litter picked and swept at the end of every shift. Where you have spare time (e.g. between school runs) you will be expected to do more thorough vehicle cleaning, including mopping and other interior cleaning and using appropriate equipment to conduct external cleaning. In all cases full training is given, PPE is provided and all of these duties are completed within paid time.
If you do not have a current Driver CPC, this is not a problem. We provide CPC training to all colleagues, and can arrange this for you before you start with us if required. At Central Connect Transport Ltd our policy is to pay for all CPC training that drivers require, and we also pay you seven hours pay for every day of CPC training completed.
