Join our vibrant team as a Volunteer Retail Assistant and gain hands-on experience in a busy retail environment while supporting The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice.
As a volunteer, you’ll help with daily shop operations, assist customers, support stock management and help create a welcoming shopping environment. This is a great opportunity to develop customer service and retail skills while making a meaningful contribution to your local community.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, helpful assistance
- Assist customers with their purchases and provide excellent customer service
- Serve customers at the till and process payments (full training provided)
- Sort, organise and replenish donated stock
- Help create attractive displays and merchandise the shop floor
- Accept donations and thank our generous supporters
- Support promotional events and special campaigns
- Help maintain a clean, tidy and safe shop environment
- Work alongside shop staff and other volunteers as part of a friendly team
Qualifications
- Friendly and approachable with good customer service skills
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Enthusiastic and willing to get involved
- Reliable and punctual
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- An interest in retail is helpful but no previous retail experience is required
Full training and ongoing support will be provided, including training on the till and other shop procedures.
