The Senior Buyer’s role is to ensure that the supply chain required for each project, are assigned approved suppliers in-line with project budgets and forecasts. This is an integral role within the Company to ensure profitability of the projects are maintained. The Senior Buyer is responsible for ensuring that projects have the most cost effective and fit-for-purpose materials and supply chain, and adhere to all legal requirements in regards to Modern Slavery legislation.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure that all relevant purchasing requisitions are being delivered through the day to day actions of the project team.

Ensure that key governance aspects are adhered to for Procurement processes and procedure, including all Modern Slavery requirements.

Ensure required purchasing documentation is produced and approved at the appropriate levels
-
Record and report savings in accordance with established guidelines

Capture and contribute to lessons learned to ensuring changes are applied to the next project

Undertake all purchasing aspects for the Project
-
Engage and communicate efficiently with internal customers and other functions as necessary in executing Project activities
-
Maintain an ethical approach to tasks and relationships in accordance with relevant VVB policies.

Conduct regular review meetings with the Project Managers to ensure alignment, including a review of ongoing activities
-
Create, develop and agree Pricing Schedules and payment terms for the project supply chain
-
Monitor Project supply chain performance
-
Agree terms and conditions for suppliers and negotiate correct payment terms
-
Managing notification of delay to site delivery and feedback to site for any costs incurred
-
Ensure any contractual changes are picked up and amended in the purchase order
-

Requirements

Experienced in using ERP systems, SAP Business One is the current system.

Excellent knowledge of Contract Law
-
Previous experience of NEC contracts
-
Adept in using MS Office programmes.

Good understanding of Modern Slavery governance and compliance
