Grading Department - Labelling Operator
Purpose of the Role
The Labelling Operator is responsible for creating, preparing, printing and checking accurate labels for cards graded by Ace Grading.
Working within established departmental standards, the role ensures every label accurately reflects the graded card, its certification details and associated product information before progressing through production.
Success requires exceptional attention to detail, strong computer literacy and the ability to work accurately within established processes, managing both routine production work and more complex submissions requiring research and problem-solving.
The role focuses on producing accurate, consistent labels using established departmental standards. It does not involve creating artwork or illustrations, as these responsibilities sit within Ace Grading's dedicated Art team.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, prepare and produce labels using Ace Grading's approved systems, processes and departmental standards.
- Source the correct artwork, certification information and product details required for accurate label production.
- Complete both routine production work and more complex submissions requiring research or investigation.
- Check label accuracy throughout the production process, identifying and escalating any discrepancies before work progresses.
- Research card information and product details where required to ensure labels are accurate and complete.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments to resolve production queries and maintain workflow.
- Operate departmental systems and equipment safely, accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain a professional, organised and team-focused approach whilst consistently delivering high-quality work.

Person Specification
Essential
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong computer literacy and the ability to learn new software and systems.
- Experience creating, formatting or editing documents to a high level of accuracy.
- Good research and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to work accurately whilst managing repetitive tasks.
- Ability to follow detailed processes and established standards consistently.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Professional attitude with the ability to build positive working relationships across departments.
Desirable
- Previous experience in labelling, document formatting, publishing, print production, administration, auditing or data quality.
- Experience working with databases or file management systems.
- An understanding of typography, document layout or graphic design principles.
- Experience using Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator or similar software.
- Knowledge of Pokémon, trading card games, sports cards or other collectible products.
- Experience working within a production or target-driven environment.
Previous knowledge of trading cards is advantageous but is not essential. Full training will be provided.
Success Measures
Success in the role will be measured through the consistent production of accurate, high-quality labels, adherence to departmental standards and the ability to contribute effectively to the smooth operation of the Labelling department.
The Labelling Operator should demonstrate strong attention to detail, reliable productivity, sound judgement when resolving or escalating issues and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments whilst maintaining the high standards expected throughout Ace Grading's production process.
Pay: £29,500.00 per year
