Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Counter Staff Member to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing food items, and ensuring a smooth operation at the counter. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, good organisational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Previous restaurant or food preparation experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary and customer service skills within a supportive team.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately.
- Prepare and serve food items according to company standards, maintaining quality and presentation.
- Handle cash transactions and operate POS systems efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area, including food prep stations.
- Ensure food safety standards are adhered to at all times.
- Upsell additional menu items to maximise sales opportunities.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly.
- Restock supplies as needed and assist with basic food preparation tasks.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing enquiries and resolving any issues professionally.
- Understanding or ability to learn online and delivery systems.
- Willingness to learn back of house.
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or restaurant service is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash and transactions accurately.
- Previous kitchen or culinary experience is advantageous.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly, approachable manner.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment.
- Upselling skills to promote additional products effectively.
